Working as a guidance counsellor in schools since 2013, Melissa enjoys supporting children, adolescents and families through challenging times, and is aware of how beneficial it is for families to engage with support when it is needed. She has experience with supporting children with mental health conditions, neurodevelopmental or learning differences, through transitional stages of life, grief and loss, social skills and parenting support. Her experience with non-profit organisations includes supporting children, adolescents and adults following trauma, family separation and family violence.
Therapy with Melissa is tailored to an individual, utilising a strength -based, holistic and systemic approach. Sessions with children are designed to be interactive, engaging and fun. Therapy and approaches utilised could include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, Expressive and Play Therapies and Attachment.
